Q：Is galvanized steel or iron?
A：Mild steel is softer than galvanized iron but more prone to rusting when exposed to moisture or water over time; on the other hand, galvanized iron is more durable and corrosion-resistant but also more expensive than regular mild steel due to its protective zinc coating layer.
Q：How can you tell if metal is galvanized?
A：Salt water testing
Prepare a solution of 3 parts salt to 1 part water. Dip a cloth in the solution and use this to wipe the steel surface. Check the steel after 24 hours. If it is a non-galvanised steel, it will rust and if it is galvanised, it won't rust.
Q：How do you clean galvanized steel?
A：Clean the galvanized metal to remove any dirt and debris. Dip a wire brush in vinegar and scrape off rust areas using firm back and forth motions. Using fine sandpaper, sand off any remaining areas of rust. Use the broom to clean the area.
